MAS FLAG Resin is a non-blushing, medium viscosity, low odor epoxy resin system. Use with MAS Fast, Medium or Slow Hardeners for a complete system. It can be used for laminating, filleting, and gluing. It has a simple 2 to 1 by volume mix ratio, easily wets out fiberglass fabric, and requires no messy washdowns. MAS Fillers such as phenolic microballoons, colloidal silica or wood flour may be added to the epoxy resin to make compounds for bonding, fairing, filleting, or filling. FLAG Resin can be combined with LV (Low Viscosity) Resin to create a custom viscosity resin. Fast, Medium and Slow Hardeners can be combined to create custom gel times.

  • No messy wash downs due to non-blushing properties
  • Ideal for laminating non-horizontal surfaces because of increased sag resistance
  • Recommended for use with our fillers and Medium Hardener for gluing, bonding and filleting
  • Designed for use as an adhesive with any of the 2:1 non-blushing hardeners
  • Clear finish means you get the structure and finish you want with one product
  • Clarity and compatibility with a variety of hardener speeds makes it ideal for creative projects

Ways to Use FLAG Resin

Frequently Asked Questions

With our 2:1 kits, you will simply choose your size of resin and then which hardener you would like to use (Fast, Medium, or Slow). The kits also includes mixing cups and a calibrated pump kit that you will cut to length.

Yes. It can be used for laminating, filleting, and gluing. The system easily wets out fiberglass fabric and requires no messy washdowns. MAS Fillers such as Phenolic Microballoons, Colloidal Silica, or Wood Flour may be added to the epoxy resin to make compounds for bonding, filleting, or filling.

Whether you are clear coating the wood or wetting down the fiberglass, the 2:1 Non-Blushing system was designed for a crystal clear finish to properly show off the natural beauty of the wood.

The cure times are dependant on which hardener you choose and the working environment you are in. Slow hardener has a working time of 40 minutes, a tack free time of 5 hours, and will be fully cured in about 5 days. Medium hardener has a working time of 25 minutes, a tack free time of 3 hours, and will be fully cured in about 3.5 days. Fast hardener has a working time of 10 minutes, a tack free time of 2 hours, and will be fully cured in about 2 days. These are under the assumption of a 75°F temperature.

Unfortunately, you cannot mix these systems' resins or hardeners as they are different ratios and systems all-together. The 2:1 system is built to save you time with its Non-Blushing formula. No need to wash down the surface after. The kit comes with calibrated 2:1 pumps to ease the transition from a 5:1 system.

No fear, this sytem is actually more efficient than the traditional 5:1 marine resin. Our simpler 2:1 system comes with pumps to dispense the ratio properly and is Non-Blushing to save you time by not having to wash it down after!

No worries! The customization of the hardener allows you to choose a time that you are comfortable with. The straightforward 2:1 mix ratio by volume simplifies the mixing process, ensuring consistency and reliability.
