Clean and Reuse Resin Mixing Cups In 3 Steps

Let's clean up!

Step 1:

If you have a small amount of epoxy left in your silicone or MAS Epoxies mixing cup after a pour, set the mixing cup to the side and let it cure completely. (I personally like to flip the cup and mixing stick upside down on a plastic covered surface to cure. The mixing stick will serve as a handle to help pry out the cured epoxy.) Once the epoxy is fully cured, squeeze the sides of the mixing cup to help release the leftover epoxy resin.

Step 2:

Carefully remove any large chunks of left-over epoxy. (Be careful, sometimes the cured epoxy shards can be quite sharp.)

Step 3:

After removing the large bits of cured epoxy, take a piece of painter’s tape (preferably something cheaper so you don’t waste your quality tape) and stick it to the inside of the mixing cup. Press and then peel the tape away to remove any tiny remnants of cured epoxy. We are basically “waxing” the mixing cup! Repeat this step until virtually all epoxy has been removed.

If you would like to go the extra mile, clean the mixing cup with warm water and soap. Let the mixing cup air dry before using it in your next epoxy project.
