Wood From the Hood was born from a simple idea: Reclaim discarded trees from the local neighborhoods to create beautiful, high-quality wood products.

Wood From the Hood is located in Minneapolis Minnesota and is now carrying MAS Epoxies products. Your local, one stop shop for kiln dried slabs in a variety of species and epoxy products for clear coating, river tables, crack filling, structural repair, gluing and bonding. Penetrating Epoxy Sealer

2:1 mix ratio by volume

100A:43B mix ratio by weight

25-30 min gel time at 75°F

10-12 hrs tack free at 75°F


Penetrates deep into wooden surfaces, sealing off contaminates and imperfections, while creating a moisture resistant barrier. Ideal for sealing any type of wood adding strength, structure that prevents the wood from moving over time. Can be diluted up to 50% with xylene, acetone or alcohol.


Deep Pour Epoxy

 

3:1 mix ratio by volume

100A:28B mix ratio by weight

24 hour cure time at 70F

Pour Thickness 0.5"-1" at 70F


MAS Deep Pour Epoxy Resin System is a 100% solid, two-component, three to one by volume mix ratio formulated for deep pour casting, encapsulating and molding applications. It cures within 24 hours at 70 ̊F creating a clear, glass like finish that resists scratching and provides an extended gel time to minimize exotherm and improved air release. Add liquid dye or pigment powders for river tables and turning applications. Prior to pouring wood must be dry and sealed with epoxy.


Deep Pour X Epoxy

48-72 hour cure time at 70F

Pour Thickness 2-3" at 70F


Deep Pour X is a high-performance epoxy casting system formulated with an extra slow cure time allowing pours up to 3". This system is extremely durable, with excellent air release, low exotherm, 100% solids and no VOC’s. Maintain material and shop temperatures between 60F-80F throughout casting process, cooler is better. This formula is specifically designed for thicker pours, with a minimum recommended casting depth of 2” depending on your working conditions.

Table Top Pro Epoxy

1:1 Mix ratio by volume

30 min gel time at 70F

Clear, Self-leveling epoxy system


MAS Table Top Pro Epoxy Resin System is a 100% solid, two-component, 1:1 ratio by volume, room temperature curing epoxy resin system for clear coating surfaces and filling knots or cracks. It cures to a clear, glass like finish that resists scratching and yellowing. This easy to use system should be poured no more than 1/8” at a time. Compatible with liquid dyes and mica powder to add color. Not compatible with oil based stains.


FLAG Resin & Medium Hardener

2:1 Mix ratio by volume

100A:45B mix ratio by weight

20 min gel time at 70F

Max Pour Thickness .5" at 70F


FLAG Resin paired with Medium Hardener is a versatile epoxy system that is ideal for filling cracks and voids on wood slabs. You can use this system in 1/4" layered pours every 90 minutes at 70F without sanding between pours. Compatible with liquid dyes and mica powder to add color. Not compatible with oil based stains.
