Frequently Asked Questions:

Can the 2:1 Non-Blushing Systems be used for fiberglassing?

It can be used for laminating, filleting, and gluing. The system easily wets out fiberglass fabric and requires no messy washdowns. MAS Fillers such as phenolic microballoons, colloidal silica or wood flour may be added to the epoxy resin to make compounds for bonding, fairing, filleting, or filling.

What kind of finish will it provide on a wooden boat?

Whether you are clear coating the wood or wetting down the fiberglass the 2:1 Non-Blushing system was designed for a crystal clear finish to properly show off the natural beauty of the wood.

What are the cure times?

The cure times are dependant on which hardener you choose and the working environment you are in. Slow hardener has a working time of 40 minutes, a tack free time of 5 hours, and will be fully cured in about 5 days. Medium hardener has a working time of 25 minutes, a tack free time of 3 hours, and will be fully cured in about 3.5 days. Fast hardener has a working time of 10 minutes, a tack free time of 2 hours, and will be fully cured in about 2 days. These are under the assumption of a 75°F temperature.

Can I mix resins and hardeners from the 5:1 systems & 2:1 systems?

Unfortunately, you cannot mix these systems resins or hardeners as they are different ratios and systems all-together. The 2:1 system is built to save you time with its Non-Blushing formula.
